Labour Market Services and Resources for Employers and Job Seekers
With the continued growth of the Saskatoon economy, SREDA’s Labour Force Development initiative assists the business and larger community in identifying labour needs and trends, and in helping to provide solutions to labour requirements. This is accomplished by working with public and private sector stakeholders to advance educational opportunities and develop new pre-employment or employment based training programs for those entering the work force, and by helping employers make connections to various sources of labour and labour market resources and assisting them with the recruitment, hiring and retention process.
Saskatoon is home to world-class educational institutions that provide education and training at all levels, recognized by all sectors. Our university is graduating professionals and entrepreneurs to become leaders in the community. Our regional and community colleges prepare people to contribute in technical and trades areas that are crucial to community and economic growth. Private colleges and schools provide training in niche areas where labour market demand exists. Additionally, various agencies and institutions support the labour force by providing basic education such as literacy and English as a Second Language.
Saskatoon is also home to a vast network of labour market related services and supports for employers and those seeking employment. Whether it’s posting job opportunities, hiring new employees, finding employment or connecting with community agencies and institutions that provide educational upgrading, job specific employee training, career development, employment placements or community supports, Saskatoon has the resources.
