Biotechnology and life sciences firms located in Saskatoon have access to one of the most advanced bioprocessing facilities in Canada at Innovation Place Bio Processing Centre.

The processing centre provides toll or custom processing on a contract basis for the nutraceutical, cosmetic and agri-food industries. The plant has a wide range of wet processing equipment to carry out extraction or fractionation work using aqueous alcohol as a working solvent. The facility operates on a fee-for-service basis using trained personnel to fulfill custom processing needs. Processing is carried out using customer developed and supplied technology and is held in strict confidence. The centre is also available for clients to bring in their own equipment or rental equipment to test different processes and concepts or to train staff prior to startup of a client's own facility.

Companies in the nutraceutical, cosmetic, perfume, food and animal feed industries have utilized this world-class facility, which became part of the infrastructure available at Innovation Place in 1999.
