Recreation and Tourist Attractions

The RM of Aberdeen is the home of the Fish Creek Historical Site, where a monument commemorates General Middleton's camp. The battlefield where Major General Frederick Middleton fought Louis Riel's troops during the 1885 Northwest Rebellion is located 1.6 km southeast of the camp. Two additional monuments to this historical battle are situated there. The Clarkboro Ferry is located close to the historical Clarke's Crossing, where Middleton's troops crossed the South Saskatchewan River on their way to the Battle of Fish Creek. A monument to Clarke's Crossing has been placed on Edenburg Road, southwest of the Town of Aberdeen.
